2 queries relating to the same table

As many others I'm a newbie to Aware IM and I could really need some help.

I created a visual perspective which contains 2 content panels below eachother. In the first panel I define the second panel as a target, so I can display a one-to-many relationship.

Now for each panel I'm using a different query, but on the same table. In this way I want to display duplicate records within the same table based on a specific field. But when I try to relate the query of the second panel to the query of the first panel it doesn't work. However, when I change the table of the second query to another table, all works fine.

Is there any way to achieve what I want to do?

Are these your requirements:

1) Display a query of BO1 in Top Panel
2) Show duplicate records from BO1 in a query in Bottom Panel

Yes, that is exactly what I want. By selecting a record in the upper panel, I want to see all related records in the lower panel of the same business object.

You need to define an operation for the first query. The operation should be located "next to the item". This means that instead of selecting a record the user will click on the button representing the operation next to the record.This operation should run the second query and the selected record should be a dynamic input to the second query.

Since both queries query on the same BO, the dynamic input selected in the first query should be distinguished from other BO's in the second query by the "This" prefix. So the second query should look like this:

FIND MyBO WHERE MyBO.Attribute1=ThisMyBO.Attribute1

i.e find all records with the value of Attribute 1 equal to the value of the selected record.

But why can't this be done directly without implicitly executing the second query? I understand that it's the same business object in both queries, but I would assume that the usage of "This" in the second query would be enough already.

Not sure what you mean by "done directly"...

What I mean is that the results of the second query are shown as soon as you select a record of the first query (which is the case when the second query is based on a different business object), rather than having to execute the second query through a operation.

You do need to click somewhere in Aware IM - it doesn't support operations on selection only, unless you want to do your own Javascripting.

When I highlight a record in query A by clicking on it, the related records are automatically being shown in query B. At least, it works like that when both queries are based on different business object.

But when both queries are based on the same business object, this functionality doesn't work (even not by using "This") and I have to create an operation to achieve the same results.

So instead of simply highlighting a record I have to click the button to show the related records, which is less user-friendly.
