Tomcat problem

I am trying to test AwareIM 4.8 on a Suse linux box. I keep having tomcat reporting that port in use irrespective of which port I use - 8080, 8181, etc. However If I start tomcat from outside awareIM, I do not get any such error. What could be the problem? I end up not being able to test my application because tomcat is not running or not available on the port

If Aware IM says that the port is in use then it IS in use. You may have another instance of Tomcat running on your machine. Try to reboot and restart Aware IM.
