This may be just me but I thought I'd post to see if there was any support for this amongst the aware community.
The bulk of my users are "Members" - and they have their own visual perspective and basic menu structure.
Then certain members have additional roles within the club so they need the basic Members menu structure plus some additional functionality (eg Technical officer needs the members menu plus additional items to interrogate Aircraft maintenance history, There are many roles and it's a real pain - when I make a change to the basic Members menu - to then have to remember to change all the other perspectives.
So what if - when designing the VP for the technical officer, I could start his menu structure by adding the "Members" menu structure (which would be another drop down list item along with "Folder, run query, start process, etc etc) then simply add the additional functionality as additional menu items.
Hope you get the idea - here's a schematic
Technical Officers Menu structure
1) Members Menu Structure
2) Aircraft (Folder)
a) Find Aircraft
b) Schedule for Annual EASA Checks
c) Add a Repair/Modification
Similarly our diary secretary would have:
1) Members Menu Structure
2) Diaries (Folder)
a) Clubroom Diary
b) Meeting Room 1 Diary
c) Meeting room 2 Diary
The key point is - when I make a change to the Basic Members menu structure - all the others that have that structure included will automatically reflect the changes
What does everyone think?
