Popup description

I entered a description in the presentation edit of an attribute and somehow managed to get a "?" next to the form field that caused the description to pop up. Very nice but now I can't figure out or find how I did that again. I can enter descriptions/explanations in the presentation edit and select the "pop up" option but it is not appearing on the form.

How'd I do that the 1st time?

There is a "Description" option on the Presentation dialog for almost any attribute. If you enter any text there a few additional radio buttons will be enabled - whether to display the description as pop-up, under the control or to the right of the control. The option you are talking about is "pop-up"

I've copied exactly what I did with the one attribute that worked. In the presentation I entered a description and selected the radio button for "pop up". The one I did a week ago works, the one I've done today doesn't. Is there a way to copy screen shots into this discussion panel so I can demonstrate?

What I've discovered is the "pop up description" does not work in test mode initially. They "?" icon is activated only when the version is "published". Was this meant to be that way?

4.7 1246 It is odd. I entered a description for an attribute and left the pop-up default selection and thought there must be some other way in the configuration tool to activate it but I didn't have time to search for it. I created a new major version and published the previous. I didn't really notice the "?" until sometime later and couldn't remember how I did. I couldn't make it happen in the test mode again. I entered several more and when I published that version - Presto! - there they were. They also appear in the new version in test mode after that.

Now that I know that's how it works I can live with it.
