I would like to see one field in a form becoming autopopulated by a part of a text string from another form field. I've tried different approaches, but to no avail.
Say there is a field called BATCH_ID and another called PRODUCT_ID. Both fields are represented in the same form, where the BATCH_ID data is entered in a '###-###-###' format, all characters alpha-numeric except for the hypens that separate the three data sections.
BATCH_ID receives its data through a barcode scanner - the format will never change.
When BATCH_ID is populated through the form, PRODUCT_ID should display the last three characters of the BATCH_ID data. If BATCH_ID data is, say, 020-345-087 PRODUCT_ID should become automatically populated with '087'
