Thanks. I've managed that and I manage to preserve the age. And I've protected it since there is no need to change the calculated value.
There is a new problem however.
'Branch' is a text attribute with two choices 'NLCC' or NSCC' no other values allowed. Initial value is set to 'NSCC'. It is calculated with a simple rule
Age < 13 Branch = 'NLCC'
Age > 12 Branch = 'NSCC'
We need to be able to override the calculated value in some cases. That works, however, if the field is tabbed through it goes blank. Is blank not considered 'another value'?
I have another list box with several choices, no other values allowed, and an initial value set. There is a rule like above based on age. When it is tabbed through the selection is preserved.
I can't see the difference other than the number of possible choices.
This is livable with some instructions on how to avoid blanking out the 'Branch' by using the mouse to click on the next field. but I'd still like to tab through the field without changing it for those "heads down" data entry types.
