george.greiner Hello I am new to Aware IM and I was watching one of the tutorials and in that tutorial a form is created and then a query is created. When that query is run there is a link for Product and he clicks on it and it pulls up the corresponding form. I need my web app to do the same thing but I am using a database that I already have in place that has a substantial amount of data in it. Is this the reason it does not do the same thing as I created a business object, form and query but it does not have the same link and in the video there was nothing done to create this function besides the above steps. Any help would very much appreciated. Thanks George
tford Hi George, Welcome to AwareIM. In previous versions, new queries had an Edit operation already configured. In the current version, you have to add the Edit operation to a query.
george.greiner Awesome that is very helpful thank you! Might as well ask this question while I am at it. When you "create" a form is it possible to adjust the layout in terms of spacing of the fields and the like without jumping into the code? The forms I am creating are going to based on our Access front end so the way our users do their job is overly affected by this process. So far I have been able to group things on a single line but the spacing is annoying and I am not sure if I am missing something or if that is just how the software works? Will I have to edit the html to do more customization?
tford It sounds like you have the general idea .. grouping, columns, form sections (tabs), HTML cells, etc... to modify the form layouts. Beyond that, you can create custom forms & AwareIM will use them. I don't have experience with that though.
