VPS Deployment Problem

I've established an account with one of the recommended servers. Using the Remote Desktop access I have downloaded an update from my account page and installed it on the VPS.

I then imported a bsv from the installation on my Windows XP PC. I imported fresh data from our Access application and created several regular user logon IDs and passwords.

All works find under test mode - all the forms, queries, reports etc.

When I "Publish" to test the operation mode none of the regular user passwords work. When I go back to the configuration tool even the "admin/password" combination is not accepted. "Dead in the water".

I have gone through the process three times now with the same result. How can I test this on the VPS before I shut down my PC installation?

Did you get a server specific product key from Aware?

Suggest you contact them and tell them what you are doing. They will ask you for the url of the server and then issue you with the correct key

This is the text of an email received from Support when I set my VPS up

"You now need to install Aware IM on a production server and send me the product id of this installation, so that I can send you the product key."

I think there's a post somewhere about changing production servers - or maybe its in one of the manuals. Will try to find it for you

Thanks for all the advice. I bought a support ticket and support fixed the problem. Said the database had to be manipulated directly. Log in name for user entries was null for some reason - may be a bug.

In any event I have a deployed working version - until next time :?
