Calendar - Questions (Visual Grouping)

Hello,

We are trying to use the New calendar as an internal schedule for employees. However we have been unable to figureout how to make a view which would be visually acceptable for each of our offices.

(Background - we have 8 offices, each with 10 employees, whom we assign Tasks)

We changed the <<Appointment>> BO with a data relation to our <<Employees>> BO so we can assign an Employee to a Task (Task = Appointment)

When we display a Query for "Today Calendar" we cannot find a way to do any of the following

1) Have the looked-up <<Employees.FirstName>> visible on that Assign Task

2) Group a Day View by Employees

-> If we could assign a Unique color per Employee then at least we could visually see a quick view of how that day was per employee

You need to assign different colors to different employees. This can be done using Item Rules dialog on the query editor

Great - We will try and assign a specific color per employee, per site.

However, how can we display the "related" field in an Appointment -

example:

In our <<AppointmentHelpdesk>> BO we have a reference to <<Employee.Fullname>> so we can assign a task to an employee.

How can we have the <<Employee.Fullname>> visible in the Day View?

Are you saying you want the <<Employee.Fullname>> on each appointment in the Day View and that there will be multiple Fullname's shown on 1 Day View?

Yes - we wish to have the Employee's Full Name visible on an Appointment in the Day View. As of now it is only Subject and Description attributes which are visible

One approach is to make the Subject a calculated attribute and build it from other attributes. This calculated Subject would be shown on all calendar views though.

1- Make Subject a calculated attribute
2- Add SubjectInput attribute
3- Add a rule to build the subject from the name + SubjectInput attributes

You will need to watch the lengths of various attributes so you don't loose any info when you concatenate them.
