Is the reply created by the system at entrance of the service+process,
or is it the responsibility of the process?

What is the syntax to access this custom-reply-attribute from within the implementing process for this service?

What will change when a Java plugin replaces the process?

The custom reply should be created automatically by Aware IM after the call to the service. The reply should be available in the context immediately after the call to the service and you can use its attributes:

REQUEST SERVICE MyService OF MyServiceProvider USING ...
If MyCustomReply.Attribute1 = 'Success' Then
DISPLAY MESSAGE 'Success'

There will be a warning message that MyCustomReply may be a wrong object - just ignore the warning.
