Problem with READ PROTECT

I have a BO ABC with attribue XYZ and a rule which says - If ABC.XYZ IS UNDEFINED Then
READ PROTECT ABC.XYZ FROM ALL
This works fine when i make the cell type of XYZ as 'attribute' in the form section. But when the cell type is changed to 'HTML' the label of the attribute is always shown even if the rule executes to FALSE.
Could this be a bug?

It probably is. Protection may not apply to attribute references in the HTML cells.

In my RegularUser BO i have a reference to BO Details... I try to apply READ PROTECT to this referred attribute this way -

If RegularUser IS NEW and RegularUser.XYZ=0 then READ PROTECT RegularUserDetails FROM ALL
I made this rule dynamic... also ticked on 'use rule during initialisation'.. doesnt seem to work.. Please tell me if i am missing something or Is it a bug?

We can easily apply READ PROTECT for normal attributes.. how can we apply READ PROTECT for referenced attribtutes? Is there a way around?

Found out a very strange work around!!!! i have no clue how it works though...
Along with the READ PROTECT reference attribute i included one more READ PROTECT regular attribute.. and it just works PERFECT!!
