Understood. It is acceptable for a short sentence but not if you have an html section open to display 5 - 10 lines of data. By the time most users get to the 4-5 line the pop-up goes away and they have to hover back over it and find where they left off previously.
It can be very frustrating and has been brought up by many users. I noticed on the EXT JS site that they have tips that can be displayed as long as the user has their mouse over the object and the tip goes away when it loses focus. That would be the most desirable but at a minimum we are trying to extend the duration to at least 15 seconds.
