License/Use Agreement

Has anyone integrated a license/use agreement into their Aware apps? I have a requirement for a new development that states that a user must complete a user license agreement before entering the application. Just curious if anyone has any real-world examples or "things to consider" before I attempt to add this.

I should mention that some of the things that I am thinking about are how to identify if a user is coming into the application for the first time. I think that I can control this for new registrations but I was also considering that a user could be established by another administrator of the system and would not go through the registration process.

It should be easy to have a RegularUser attribute: LicenseAccepted that can be checked on login. If the License has not been accepted, you could display a VP that shows the license agreement & a place for the user to accept it or logout. The lack of other menu options on this Acceptance VP would restrict the user's options.

If you are distributing your application as an installation file, the Runtime builder feature will handle this automatically for you - you just need to provide your own license file when you are building an executable to distribute.

When your user installs the application the license file will be shown to the user and he/she will have to accept the terms (the process is very similar to the one used when Aware IM itself is being installed)
