Verticle Menu Settings

In build 1206 I have noticed a couple of enhancements for the menu settings in Visual Perspectives ...and have a couple of questions

(1) There is now an option for a Verticle Menu type - I have looked at this and compared it to the Tree and did not really see anything noticable. What is the real difference between these two types?

(2) There is a disabled option for a menu type of Vertical(with horizontal bar). What is needed to enable this setting? and, how is it different then the verticle type?

I was wondering these exact same questions. Documentation only describes Horizontal and Tree.

I have just spent an hour playing with it.... I have no idea!

Can someone shed some light on Vertical(with horizontal bar)?

(I'm hoping for a nice looking vertical menu! even accordion stylish)

Near as I can tell it's a depreciated feature but ever post asking about it has gone without confirmation. As or 5.3 I believe the only vertical menu option is the tree, else roll your own.
