Hi,
this is a bit tricky to explain but here goes...
as a user when i go to a record and make changes its good to have a warning that before I move away from the record the system will warn me that i need to save any changes I have made.
Where a record is opened as part of a new Tab but not using a process then this works. Although have discovered that if i use DISPLAY 'queryname' then a new tab is not opened (although have specified in the visual perspective) in a process then this might be the reason? am using this ACTION to allow operation buttons to be used otherwise would use PICK, which, typically works!
In such cases what i'm finding that if i open a record from a process (which does not open a tab), edit it and then randomly navigate away to another menu option then the system will not warn me that by moving away i will possibly lose changes. I know that I would save changes but users being a bit absent minded this can lead to problems. Idiot proof is the answer!
anyone got any ideas on how best to approach this? or maybe i just need to look at how i;m actually searching for clients and then creating them? (relates to prev post
