PICK FROM Window Size

Hi All,

Can someone tell me how to control the on-screen size of the PICK FROM window ?

My problem is that the action seems to produce a large window even if there are only a very small number of entries to pick from, which looks very untidy.

Another question I have about PICK FROM is how to control which attributes are displayed in the window. An un-specified selection of attributes seem to appear by default.

Unfortunately the User Guide is a bit sparse on PICK FROM.

Any suggestion appreciated 🙂

I don't believe you can change the window size of a PICK FROM.

You can specify a query name in the PICK FROM syntax and define the attributes there. In the query, you can also specify the column widths for each of the displayed attributes.

At least you've reassured me that I wasn't doing something wrong, though I still contend that the PICK FROM window is very untidy.

Your tip about using a query with the PICK FROM syntax will be very useful.

It's not exactly the same as a pick list, but you can get a cleaner UI by using a custom presentation. A Custom Presentation gives you complete control over the look and feel. You can then make each line clickable & run a process from there. In some cases that can replace a PICK FROM.

If you specify a query in the PICK FROM action you can specify width and height for the results of the query. The window size will then use those values.
