Proble understanding process v queriesowever,

I am trying to check some dates on initialisation of the business space so that I can reset current "seasons"

I have a process which has just 2 lines

PICK FROM SystemSettings WHERE SystemSettings.ID<>87654 NO CONFIRMATION FOR ONE

UPDATE SystemSettings

Systemsettings contains the actual rules that calculates the seasons

The process is triggered in the administrators visual perspective but it doesn't work as planned because the process ALWAYS puts a list(of one) up that requires the user to click a check box. Definitely not what is required.

What am I doing wrong

Sounds like you want to use a FIND action instead of a PICK FROM action.

You may not even need it though. There is only one SystemSettings instance & it's always in context. I wonder if you could just use UPDATE SystemSettings without any FIND action.

There is only one instance of the SystemSettings object in the system and it is always available in ANY context. Therefore you do not need to find it - you can just use it. There is also a system command to edit the System Settings object - you don't need to have a process for this.
