getting values in the context

I have a mental block resolving an issue. I'll try to explain as good as possible:

I have 4 business objects that drill down in a one-to-many way:

objectA is at the top, then
objectB belongs to objectA, mulitple allowed
objectC belongs to objectB, mulitple allowed
objectD belongs to objectC, mulitple allowed

objectD have a peer to objectA, so i can have a dropdownlist to let the operator chooses a specific entry from objectA

My problem is that by now i know which value is in objectA, because it is, as far as i understand, already part of the context. So i should be able to 'populate' the specific value in objectD without having the operator choose the value.

And this is where my porblem is, how do i achieve that?

Hi Rolf,

In ObjectD, you can add a new shortcut attribute:

Name: ObjectA_ID

Place a new shortcut atttibute in ObjectD:
attribute name: ObjectA_ID
path: ObjC.ObjB.ObjA.ID
