A touch of trouble with BO Groups

I believe I have followed the User's Guide regarding BO Groups. I have four "child" BOs which I have placed in BOGroup. They have several similar attributes and make a good fit for the intent of the BOGroup concept. I then created a relationship between the parent BO and the GroupBO. I then created a form tab and put the BOGroup list on that tab. List is empty.

Did I skip a step?

There is a parent BO that is the Parent (Owner) of all BOs in the BOGroup. So in the Parent BO I created an attribute of type BOGroupName. Basically the same thing they say here in the User's Guide:

"So, we would simply add a multiple reference attribute
ContactHistory of type Communication to Client to display a list of
communication records on the client form."

I then created a form tab and put the BOGroup list on that tab. List is empty.

When you say "created a form tab", do you mean you added a Form Section to the default editing form for Parent BO?

Yes, a form section. On this section, I added the attribute that represents the BO Group and then configured the display of the item, which is a list. When I test, there is an item list there, but no data. I've run a query on the BO Group and for sure, it contains all of the data from the BOs within the group.

What is the relationship of the Parent to the Group BO -- peer or 'owner of'

If the relationship is 'peer', you need to somehow relate the grouped children items with the parent -- either by using the Add button on the form or through some other process.

My primary BO is the owner of each of the members of the BO Group, and therefore also the owner of the BO group.

So what happens if you use the Add or Add New buttons?

I didn't try as I didn't think it was practical - it wouldn't know which of the members I was really trying to add to. That seems secondary to the fact that I thought I should be able to get a listing of the BO Group and it's not happening. To me, it seems I've done just what I should.

AwareIM has to know which parents own which children. Somehow you have to tell it to do that. Add and Add New button are one way of doing that.

If you want to describe your application in a less generic way, maybe we can provide some help.--- ie: what are you trying to accomplish from a business point of view.
