Hello

Is there a way in AwareIM that when I send an email the read receipt option is active?
I have created a marketing database but I need the mailshot to have the read receipt option active so I know if the recipient has read the email or not!

Has Read Receipts or Delivery Receipts have been implemented yet?

Does anyone has any have any suggestions about how to handle this? I have a client who needs tyo know for sure that an email was delivered?

I've created an app for that but it uses a third party service. It's 100% sure and you'll have something like this as receipt :

Sho that sounds perfect. Can you determine to which address these receipts are sent to? Or can it be implemented as a webservice so that an Attribute on the mail Object can be set to 'Delivered' when this notice is received by AIM?

How does this app work? Does it poll the SMTP server to see when it has been delivered?

How does your implementation work & What would it cost?

I can't enter in full details here but this is how it works :

email can be sent from the app ( automatic or manual )
it goes to the Customer's or any Intelligent BO email address
receipt is sent back to the app's main email
copy of the receipt goes to the BO's profile as a log

It is using a third party service and the good thing is that works 100%, no problem if it is open on a PC, Phone or Tablet. You have the option to inform the recipient of the tracking or not.
I can implement the basic futures in 2 days in any bsv or create a fresh one. PM me if interested.

OK let me rather explain what I need. Not sure If I'm understanding your function correctly.

OK so our setup looks like this:

We send all our emails via a SMTP2Go SMTP sever. (smtpcorp.com)
Incoming mails are handled via a Separate Business Object. We have a catchAll Mailbox with RackSpace to which we connect and if there is a Mail the AIM server will use the incoming mail notification to Create an Object ("Received Mail") in our system. However we are only connecting to One inbox via System Settings setup.

Now...

Since emails in AIM are not always 100% reliable we often land in a situation where we think a mail has been sent (From the system) via the SMTP server, when in fact it hasn't. 99.999 times this is as a result of a (Authentication Error). Other AIM users have also experienced this.

Thus we want the ability to have an 'Yes/No' attribute (SentMail.Delivered) which is set to yes when we can say for CERTAIN that the email has been delivered.

Thus I would be able to see all mails which have been sent from my application but have not actually been delivered to the Aimed recipient.

Is this what your App can provide?

If Yes... Can you give me a ballpark figure of what this would cost so i can present it to our clients. I think they might be interested.

This has been discussed before and you have possible seen these discussions but if not, there are also other solutions to get this verification. Search the forum for "jangomail".
