Search and results on same page - I'm struggling

kklosson

I'd like to have a page within a visual perspective that has a search form across the top (single row), with a few drop-downs, and a search button. I'd like the results to display below the search for while keeping the search form present for further searches. I can't seem to do that.

Also, when I create a form for use with a query, when I Search, it asks if I want to save the the changes. So I'm doing something wrong on that front too.

Try this:
1- create a new bsv
2- create a form on the RegularUser BO called search... include the LoginName and AccessLevel attributes all on 1 line.
3- Create a Query of RegularUser specifying to Use Form "Search".
4- In the Administrator VP, create 2 content panels in the Main frame with vertical layout. 2nd content panel will be named Search Results. Target panel for the 1st content panel will be Search Results. In the "Selected Panel" area, specify "Results of query" to be the query you created in #3.
5- Run a test and you should see your desired result.
