Hi,

we use PRINT command to print filename.doc particular document.

 PRINT filename.doc

and this command is store in a process.

when i run the application and click on the print, it will directly send the file to print without showing the printer options and sometimes it will show process complete message window without printing the docs.

did anyone have the similar issue!!

As when we use this action it not show the print dialog box. so a user unable select the printer to one he wants to print from.

And right now i have three printers are installed on my computer, one on LPT 1 and other two on the USB, i set down my one USB deskjet printer DEFAULT but when i click on the print it will directly send the doc for printing to another printer(even it is offline).

i verify that this issue only coming with the my awareim application only. otherwise it is working well with other programs.

please suggest URGENT!!!

Maybe I'm wrong. Someone please correct if I'm mistaken.

I always understood PRINT went to the DEFAULT SERVER printer period. No option to have it print to the work station and no option to even select a server based printer? I don't ever recall it asking to select a printer and I don't believe it does.

I believe you need to send your report to PDF when the PDF opens in the browser the user can select the PRINT button and that will give you the locally installed printers to select from.

all above you said is correct awareim is printing docs from PRINT DOCUMENT command to the default server.

But it is not practical as there are number of users at different locations and if any client want to print any docs then the command should print to the default printer not to the SERVER, by choosing the PDF files it is not right approach to get the things done.

In the development phase when we use this command we are not aware of it, as we are printing from the server only and it was doing well--we use a word doc backside and when on the application PRINT action click it print the particular doc.

so if support update the PRINT command with the default printer selection or showing the print dialog then its a good for all.

PRINT command works on the server. There is no way to invoke CLIENT's printing from the server. There is no technology to do that. If a client wants to print he has to select Print command from his browser.
