Testing Version 4

I have downloaded the new version so I can test my application before committing to the upgrade cost but things are not going great.

I have exported my current .bsv file from my working version and imported this to the new version but I now cannot Publish or put this new version in test due to integrity problems - Example below

"Attribute index in Agency is reserved for system use. Please specify a different name."

This is not an option as the application would need a complete rewrite! Any ideas out there in AwareIM land as in my current version this is not a problem?

Since you are in test mode, you might want to try just changing the name of that attribute. AwareIM does a lot of automatic adjustment of things within the application once you change an attribute name or BO name.

Hi Tom

Ok I have renamed the attributes and all looked ok how ever now I have a screen that will not load. If I try to login as a 'Credit Checker' I just see the loading icon and nothing else happens. If I use the JSP logon I receive a HTTP 500 error message?

I suggest the following

1) do not migrate to version 4 unless you wish to utilise the Ajax stuff which is very good

2) We went live with version 4 and it has not been not a nice experience with JBOSS error that is outstanding. We wish we had requested Version 3 to be honest.

3) The Http Error is "usually memory" issues and as you can see suggestions on the forums on the how to change your settings on the bin directory depending on the version of DBASE and Operating System. The instructor guide is detailed with changes to memory - however you may wish to also consider the setting for com.bars.controlcentre.controlcentreapp which may need extra memory allocated to it.

The problem that ghilton is experiencing has nothing to do with version 4.0 or memory. He sent us his problem and we'll reply by e-mail.

Version 4.0 has NO problems with JBoss - this area hasn't been even changed since version 3.0

Just to clear up this, all this was in the end stooping the form loading in the html style was a menu item that use an '&' in the text description. It was as easy as that!
