New EXT Themes

PEFS

On the EXT site they have new EXT themes (created by users) available for download.

Would it be possible for Aware to add these themes to the standard 3.0 application?

As always, more selection makes everything better ;o)

Most likely these themes will be included in the new version. If you want to use them in v3.0 you can manually do this by replacing the default theme.

Thank you for considering adding them to the next release. I will try it to see if it works.

I tried to get this to work as suggested i.e. dropping the theme files into the Ext directory and changing the default directory. However the theme seemed to default to the standard blue, but some of the drop downs on the form changed to the new theme color

Is there any other area in AwareIM that needs to be edited, so that it knows about the new theme ?

ACDC / Support,
I just wanted to followup on this. I have a new theme that I would like to make available via the drop down theme selection menu within the application. What changes/additions need to be made to address this.

the Aware IM Help system has detailed instructions on how to install these themes.

Its been a while since i did it, but if you seach on themes in the help file it should take you to the right place.

It involves two steps - copying the themes into a resource directory and then adding the themes to the theme.prop file.

Bryan

thom,
Thanks for the help. I will have a look and let you know how it turns out.

Thanks

So, getting the new themes to import was simple enough. Thanks for the help.

I am however running into one issue. Everything is changed to match the new theme selection with the exception of the calendar. I am guessing because it is some newer functionality.

Any tips on how to get the calendar to match the rest of the them?

Thanks

aware_support

Yes, the calendar is new and is not covered by the themes. You'll need to add calendar styles to the themes manually. Calendar styles are in the file AwareIM/Tomcat/webapps/AwareIM/aware_ext/e2cs/calendar.css.

You can append the contents of this file to each of the theme css files and then delete the file itself. Then change the calendar styles in each theme file to match the theme

Bryan

Sounds like a plan. I actually dug through the other themes and realized that the calendar entry was missing from my theme completely. I copied over the css snippet dealing with the calendar and then modified it to match the rest of the theme.

Thanks for the assistance.
