Date comparison in rules

To check uniqueness of instances in BO Person, I'm using the following BO rule :

If EXISTS Person WHERE ((Person.NameFull=ThisPerson.NameFull AND Person.Birthdate=ThisPerson.Birthdate) AND Person.ID<>ThisPerson.ID) Then REPORT ERROR 'Person with a same name and birthdate already exists.'

This rule works correctly ONLY when Birthdate is not null.

I would expect that when a person exists with birthdate undefined and I create a new person with same name and birthdate undefined as well, the above would REPORT ERROR, no ?

Of course, I can't force my users to enter a birthdate for each and every person !

Hi,

an instance of an undefined value is not the same thing as an instance of a defined value and undefined values cannot be manipulated (such as compared).

One way to handle this is by creating a similar second rule where the expression is the same except with Person.Birthdate IS UNDEFINED and REPORT ERROR 'Person with a same name already exists.'
