FIND a unique record in external DB table (mysql)

After trying for many hours, I just can't get it right ...

Here is the problem :

BO : OutgoingCall
Attr: FromPhone, ToPhone, CallDate, LinkCDR

External BO : CallDetails
Attr: uniqueid, channel, destination, userdata, timestamp

I've defined CallDetails with uniqueid as primary key.

The requirement:
Find the CallDetails record and write the uniqueid to the LinkCDR attribute.

The problem:
how to define the FIND action on the CallDetails ?

In a process, the following rule doesn't work:

FIND CallDetails where CallDetails.channel STARTSWITH OutgoingCall.FromPhone and CallDetails.destination=OutgoingCall.ToPhone and CallDetails.userdata=' '

As a test, I use an interactive query on CallDetails to check that I can find a unique record. For instance, if I use channel = SIP/103 and destination = 00123456789 and userdata = ' ' , the list shows only one record. And I can edit it without problem.

And the FIND action above will work if I put 'SIP/103' and '00123456789' instead of the OutgoingCall references. I've tried using '<<Outgoingcall.FromPhone>>',... but it doesn't work either.

Can someone help ?

You might try these steps to narrow down the issue:

1- change STARTSWITH to =

FIND CallDetails where CallDetails.channel=OutgoingCall.FromPhone and CallDetails.destination=OutgoingCall.ToPhone and CallDetails.userdata=' '

2- I'm assuming that you have OutgoingCall as a process input

3- In the process that includes the FIND, have a 2nd action:
VIEW CallDetails.

FIND CallDetails Where CallDetails.FromPhone STARTSWITH('SIP/103') and CallDetails.userdata=' '
View CallDetails

the CallDetails Form will display correctly.

So the problem is really how can I use the value stored in OutgoingCall.FromPhone (SIP/103). I wonder if it is supported with an external database ?

Have you tried to create a dummy BO identical attributes to the external database & find your sample instance in that BO.

That should determine if external DB is the issue or your process/syntax.

I've tried with a local BO without success.

So the problem is really about the syntax in a FIND action...

I've read the documentation but all examples use fix values instead of a value taken from another BO (found in the context, obviously).

Maybe aware_support can give some hints ?

So OutgoingCall... refers to an external database?

Aware IM doesn't support queries where you mix Aware IM native objects and objects from external databases - this is documented in the manual.

If it is something different, then check LogViewer and the output of Aware IM server - they will tell you what's wrong

No, in OutgoingCall there is no reference attribute to the external CallDetails table.

I just want to find a record in CallDetails using a value of an OutgoingCall attribute (value SIP/103 found in OutgoingCall.FromPhone).

The OutgoingCall instance is available in the context (log: Found 1 objects), so I would expect to be able to use that attribute in a FIND action ...

My bad - I should read more carefully.

Queries with values from the context should be supported properly - we are quite sure they work OK. What sort of test did you do with local objects to check this?

When I run a query on my EXTERNAL CallDetails table, everything works as expected. The query rule is:
FIND CallDetails WHERE CallDetails.channel STARTSWITH ?channel ...

Now the very 1st question is :

in my process, how should I write my rule if the ?channel value has to be provided from OutgoingCall.FromPhone (found in context) ?

I've tried FIND CallDetails WHERE CallDetails.channel STARTSWITH OutgoingCall.FromPhone - but that gives following error :

Internal error. Element INDEX_OF in query condition CallDetails.channel STARTSWITH OutgoingCall.FromPhone of query FIND CallDetails WHERE CallDetails.channel STARTSWITH OutgoingCall.FromPhone cannot be converted to the currently installed version of SQL.

Is this a limitation, a bug or a FIND syntax problem ?

This is a bug related to using STARTSWITH, external database and a value resolved dynamically (OutgoingCall.FromPhone). Can you work around this bug?

Thanks for your reply.

After I'd manually modified some records to hold just the SIP/103 and use the = instead of Startswith, I can confirm the STARTSWITH (+ CONTAINS !) bug.

Unfortunately, I can't think of any workaround as the CallDetails.channel is made of the SIP identity of the caller's phoneset + a unique channel ID given dynamically by the PABX system.

If you can correct the bug in the coming 2-3 weeks, it would be OK.
