Can anybody think of a neat way to refresh a page to work around the timeout issue?
My client has the habit of leaving their AwareIM application open on a data entry page in anticipation of quickly responding to customer requests, only to enter a page full of information and find their session has timed out and the have been logged out and the data is lost.
I have extended timeouts to be larger than 1 day and repeatedly advised that this is not a good behaviour and that they should log out once a day but to no avail. Even people I have told directly forget and expect that if they can leave Outlook open all the time why cant I keep the database open as well?
As they say "at least if it is going to log us out it should tell us and close the screen".
They have made it clear that they are finding this VERY frustrating and that I should now do something about meeting their expectations.
Can we do a page refresh or close the screen or pop up a dialog to advise a logout or something maybe using AJAX?
