Licensing Model Problems

I have now had a fair time to use your product and think it's fantastic.

I do however think you desperately need to look at your licensing model as the current one seems to me to be crazy.

I have a situation where the slightest change to my laptops networking configuration causes the server not to start. i.e. if the software is installed with my laptop connected to my network, when I attempt to start the server when not connected, I get an error 'License Expired or invalid for product id XXXXXXX', if the software is installed with my Windows PDA not connected to my laptop, when I attempt to start the server with my Windows PDA connected via Activesync, I get an error 'License Expired or invalid for product id XXXXXXX'.

This makes the product both cumbersome and unacceptable for use on any form of mobile system which is a shame given that the overall quality of the product is superb.

This would appear to be by design and not a bug but I think your developers need to change this model ASAP, there are other less complicated methods of controlling the use of the software which would undoubtedly cut your costs by not having to re-issue codes regularly and make it more useable by your customers. I can't imagine that I'm the only one who has experienced this.

I hope you take this as constructive as your product is otherwise superb.

Thank you very much for your feedback. There could be a bug in the software that is causing some problems with licensing. We will investigate and report back.

There was indeed a bug which should be fixed starting from build 978

Downloaded & installed build 978, still the same problems. Do I need to completely de-install & re-install or does a simple upgrade suffice.

Your product id has already been generated so to fix the problem we would need to re-generate both the product id and the product key for you. To do this we would need to send you the utility to do this. You would also need to backup your data. Please send an e-mail to support@awareim.com if you want to do this.
