You need to do the following:
On a machine where the Aware IM server is running open the file
BASServer.props located in the BIN directory. Search for "localhost". If you find it in this file replace "localhost" with the network name of the
machine and re-start Aware IM on this machine. If you don't find it there,
then it has been replaced before and you don't need to change anything and re-start the server.
Install the complete version of Aware IM on a Mac.
Select Aware IM application in the File Finder on a Mac and select
Action/Show Package Contents (Aware IM application represents a folder).
Then navigate to the Contents/Resources/java/bin directory and open the file UIConfig.props for editing
Change the lines starting with:
HostServer=localhost
WebServer=localhost
and replace localhost with the network name of the machine where the Aware IM server is running
Start the Terminal application and change to the bin directory:
cd /Applications/AwareIM.app/Contents/Resources/java/bin
Run the ClientStarter script:
bash ClientStarter.sh
This should start the Configuration Tool connected to the Aware IM server
running on a different machine.
