Any way to use production data in test database

Hi,

I am making good progress on my first app and have published the first beta version of it. From the published version, I create a new minor version to make the next round of changes in. What I would like to do is to refresh the new minor version with data from the production version whenever I put it under test because the data takes about 8 hours to load the full dataset. Is this possible?

Hi ski,

When you put a version under test you do not have to re-initialize it every time. It means you can populate the test database with full data once and later choose the option to use existing test data when publishing a new version under test.

Ok, so now way to just copy the production database to the test database (that would be much, much faster for me).

Indeed, should be very helpfull to have this automated (copy production data to test).
Still no solution for this?

You can do it manually like this:

1) Publish the version so that it is in the CURRENT state
2) Copy the tables from the BASDBTEST to BASDB database except the following ones:
a) BAS_SYSTEM
b) Execution_Contexts
c) DVHISTORIES
d) DOMAINVERSIONS
e) DOMAINS
