My application reads creates new student objects based upon an external table. I have a process that runs and finds all objects in the external table that are new and create objects for these in AwareIM.
On each student object I have rules for each attribute that write a ChangeLog object when the attribute is changed and the student is not new:
If Student.StudentId WAS CHANGED AND NOT(Student IS NEW ) Then
create ChangeLog WITH ChangeLog.Type='Modify',ChangeLog.ObjectNumber=ThisStudent.UidNumber,ChangeLog.Message='StudentID '+OLD_VALUE(Student.StudentId)+' changed to '+Student.StudentId
insert ChangeLog IN Student.ChangeLogs
This seems to work fine for small changes, but when I created 20000 new stduent object via the process, it was random in that some times these rules were fired off even though the student was being created. So I am getting many additional ChangeLogs that I should not.
Any ideas on how to make this consistent so if the Object is being created, the rule really does not fire?
