Problem with apostroph

I have a BO company with let's say Sigi's Taxi as the company name. From this entry I create a delivery note using a process and everything is fine.
Now I edit the delivery note where the company (Sigi's Taxi) shows up as a drop down. When opening, the drop down is empty. I can re-select this particular company but it doesn't get saved.

It seems to me that the ' in the company's name acts as a field delimiter when saving. Therefore this problem might occur everytime when using a combo box with entries containing a aprostroph.

This happens running AwareIM build 954 on Ubuntu Linux with MySQL
5.0.24a-Debian_9-log on the same machine.

Hi,
I ran into the same problem, the apostrophe seems to be a system used character and it gives funny results if used in names. As one workaround, I use a different character. I am not even sure what it is called but on my keyboard it is the top left button. It is the lower case character for ~, it prints out as ` which looks very much like an apostrophe but doesn't cause the same problems. Hope that helps,

Pete is right. There are two symbols used as apostrophe in Aware IM - the standard symbol "'" and the one under the "~" symbol - "`"

If your string used in rules contains apostrophe you can use either symbol to indicate the apostrophe within the string PROVIDED that the other symbol is used as a string delimiter for rules. For example:

REPORT ERROR My error message is 'Blah-blah' valid
REPORT ERROR 'My error message is Blah-blah' valid
REPORT ERROR 'My error message is 'Blah-blah'' invalid
REPORT ERROR My error message is 'Blah-blah' invalid

Thanks for your postings - good to know that.
But this is not my problem - sorry if my posting was unclear.

Using values containing an apostroph works fine in text fields. But when used in a drop down then the value from the drop down doesn't get saved. So if I save the data shown above "Firma" will be empty

We'll have a look. For now use the ` symbol as apostrope - it should work.
