Jaymer, in addition to Joben’s reply:
Note that the standard saveAsExcel function in AwareIM does not use the saveAsExcel() function in the Kendo.ui.Grid library. Instead, the saveAsExcel() function in the QueryLayoutParser uses the Kendo Ooxml Workbook library (API Reference here). The code that joben provided is a variation thereof. The core difference is that Kendo.ooxml.Workbook is a low-level data engine used to build Excel files from scratch, whereas the Kendo.ui.Grid.saveAsExcel() is a high-level UI command that automatically grabs the grid and exports this. You see the difference in the code: where the QueryLayoutParser.saveAsExcel() function builds the Excel file by pushing all rows and columns in an array, the Grid.saveAsExcel() can do the same with just one line of code:
grid.saveAsExcel();
I guess there must be a reason that AwareIM uses the ooxml method instead of the simpler function in the Grid library, but I don’t know what that is.
By the way, I saw that the Kendo Grid library has a configuration setting excel.allPages (documentation), which should ensure that the Excel export includes all pages of data, not just the page that is visible on the screen. I have not yet tested that feature but perhaps it is a much simpler solution.
