SMS Options from Aware

For years we have been sending text messages by emailing something like 1234567890@txt.att.net for AT&T customers and similar things for other providers. I just found out that AT&T stopped allowing that last June (I had not heard anything from any of our clients about text messages not getting through - which is a whole other issue).

I am now faced with finding an alternative that will work with AwareIM (and also Magic XPA).

I am wondering what others have been using to send text messages from AwareIM?

Any thoughts?

Hi Jim

Mostly it is easy path you just need to find the local text service provider and implementation method they provide mostly provide via REST services which can be integrated or SDK using java plugin.

I use TheTexting also. Just keep in mind…. not a single SMS service I have tried will send an SMS to EVERY country that I might need…. I guess that is one of the drawbacks of living in a weird place like Mongolia. 🤣

Thanks Mark. Fortunately I only have to deal with one country, and really only one state (Idaho).

I haven’t worked much with REST Api’s so I am a little unsure on how to get it setup. I have looked through Vlad’s video on setting up the API, but I must be missing something, because I can’t seem to get it right.

Any examples/ideas would be appreciated.

REQUEST SERVICE SEND_TheTexting OF REST_TheTexting

you have to setup a rest service.
before that, you need to get it working from postman. this is required step when learning.
