I’m struggling with a few issues trying to get an app useable on mobile phones.
Scenario - the app allows instructors to record flight training exercises for pupils working towards their pilots license. It’s currently live and works great on tablets and laptops. HOWEVER, the device of choice on a busy airfield will be a mobile phone.
The problems
1) The names of the exercises are just too long to be seen in portrait mode and there are too many to mess around in landscape . IS THERE A WAY IN A STANDARD GRID TO SPLIT THE NAME ATTRIBUTE CONTENT OVER TWO OR MORE LINES - LIKE A TEXT AREA RATHER THAN A SINGLE GRID LINE. IF THE ANSWER IS YESTHEN MY PROBLEM No 2 IS SOLVED
2) The grid lines need to change colour depending on how far along the pupil is with their training - from briefed, to practiced, to signed off as complete. When I try to create a “Custom” grid, there is no option for creating item display rules, IS THERE A WAY TO USE CONDITIONAL STATEMENTS IN A CUSTOM LAYOUR TO CHANGE THE BACKGROUND (Or FONT) COLOUR.
Actually, thinking about it as I type, all the heavy lifting is already done to determine the line colours which are then held in a variable in each record - colour=‘Red’ etc etc, so maybe I can use that variable to specify the colour i need in the custom grid …. Hmmm font colour = {attrib.colour} or something like that
