Query Presentation in columns

Hi Support,

Is it possible to have a Query presentation where Attributes are displayed in columns instead of rows (spreadsheet style) with in line editing?

I have a spreadsheet where sale items are listed in the left column and each next column has a dollar amount for every day in a month. This spreadsheet is used to track daily sales of different items in a store.

If I use a generic BO design with sale items as attributes I will get a standard presentation with attributes listed on the top of the table which is not what I need.

this would also be very interesting for me.

In other development environments this functionality is called a cross table and I am currently trying to figure out how this works in AWAREIM.

Like you I would like to see a forecast of sales per client and day of month or accomulated months per year.

In addition the currency should be flexible which means every customer/project could have its own currency and the calculation should be done on the fly.

I think I will be able to solve the calculation by creation of non persistant BO's during runtime....

But it would be great to have the cross-table done (of course including column headers for the day of month and day-name (Mon, Thu, ....)

Peter, if you want to show data without editing you can do it with reports/presentations. You have the flexibility to specify your own layout, place conditional elements like different currency, display calculated values, etc.

Lenkost, if you want to edit data, you will need an object for the data. For example, you may have an ItemMonth object with a reference attribute to SaleItem and attributes for each day of the month (Day1, Day2, etc). You will also need a SaleMonth object as a container for ItemMonth objects. The ItemMonth objects would be displayed as inline-editing table on the SaleMonth form. This would be very similar to the PurchaseOrder object with the list of LineItem objects for the order you can see in the Ordering sample application when you login as Staff.
