Reporting Method

I have a system that is under research at the moment. There is a requriement for allocating categories and codes against individual employees. My question relates to hwo this could be displayed in a report format.

Employee BO - Name
Category
Item

An employee can have many categories associated with them and each category can have many items assocaited with them. While the category and items have additional information, from a reporting point of view onl a single character is required.

What I need to be able to do is show in tabular form:

Name: Joe Bloggs
Category
a b c
1,2,3 5,8,9 3,7,8

is it possible to report this way ?

You can use the following tag to display multiple category codes for the employee:

<<LIST_LINE('FIND Category WHERE Category IN Employee.Categories ORDER BY Category.Code', ' ', ' ', Category.Code)

As for the items, if you want to list all items found in any category linked to the employee (but no item repetition), you can do it like this:

<<LIST_LINE('FIND Item WHERE EXISTS Category WHERE(Category IN Employee.Categories AND Category = Item.Category) ORDER BY Item.Number', ' ', ',', Item.Number)
