I have finished making my Business Object PSM - which has several reference attributes in it that point to another Business Object Sites, for instance one reference attribute is SiteName and this points to the Sites object for the data.

Now I have created a report to run off of PSM - where the user inputs a site name and the report is generated based on that. The issue I'm seeing is that instead of putting the actual name of the site on the report, it's putting in the SiteName_RID - I'm assuming this is a reference number that is linked to the Site Name in the database. How do I get the actual site name to show up instead of this number?

Hi Stef,

Try using <<PSM.Site.Name>> instead of <<PSM.Site>>. The last attribute in the path should be of basic type (text, number, etc.) - not a reference attribute.

Thanks for all of your help so far-

I just have one last question re:reports. I have two objects - One is all Site information (photo, location, etc) and the other is called PSM (which is all relevant information about the last site maintenance). I want to have a report that has all of this information PSM, plus some info from the Site object like the photo image, location.

How can I create a report to pull from two different objects? I can only seem to get either data from the PSM object or the Site object, but not both in the same report.

Hi Stef,

For single reference attributes you can pull data for related objects just by chaining names in the attribute path. For example, if the report is on PSM instances and PSM has a single reference to Site you can show the site name, photo, or other attributes like this:

<<PSM.Site.Name>>
<<PSM.Site.Photo>>
...

For multiple attributes you can use sub-reports. See the User Guide for details on sub-reports and the Library sample application for examples.
