Report group sub-totals

Hi,
I have a report where I have two calculated fields in a report group band:
MAX EquipmentInventory.Buffer and COUNT EquipmentInventory

I am using the element properties - Evaluation details to set the calculation to be run at the end of that group and everything is running and sub-totalling properly.

Now I want to calculate the order quantity for each group which would be MAX EquipmentInventory.Buffer - COUNT EquipmentInventory. However, when I try to create a calculated expression, the evaluation details button is greyed out and so I can't limit the calculation to each group, it runs against all of the records. Is there another way to do this?

Hi Pete,

An expression with several aggregate operations is not supported for report groups at the moment. We will be looking into this issue. The best I can suggest in the meantime is to show the results of each aggregate operation separately for the group. Separate aggregate operations will work.

Alternatively, if you have business objects containing the information you print in the report group, you can calculate the required totals there. There are no limitations on expressions using aggregate calculations in rules.

Hi,
More robust abilities in grouping might be something to look at in the future. I figured out a workaround by creating a new business object with only one record and then used the rules for that object to populate the fields that I created with 'Find' expressions. It is working although I now need to create two reports, a detailed report and a summary report instead of a combined report but it is working and I am happy with it.

I am wondering if there is any update on having an expression with several aggregate operations. I do recall it was not supported in reports
