8.1 user image on a PDF (and not a fuzzy one)

We have a simple need...

User uploads their logo to a business object instance (picture attribute), then we use this on a PDF report. Think tenant system, user uploads a logo and wants it to show on a PDF Invoice.

We have a Picture attribute, no scale image rules, a "tag" on the PDF report and it shows the picture. BUT the issue is...

the tag on the report must be a certain size
if the picture uploaded is smaller it gets scaled up and becomes fuzzy (strangely it doesn't scale up all the way to fill the Tag defined space, it just gets bigger)
if the picture uploaded is large it gets cut off when placed in the Tag defined space, therefore not displaying the logo

How does anyone else manage this?

On the user end, specify the min and max image size.
Validate with IMAGE_WIDTH & IMAGE_HEIGHT functions.
Use the SCALE_IMAGE to scale the image to the right size.
Use the IMAGE_DATA function to store the BASE64 version of the image. <img src="<<BO.Base64IMG>>" (I use this in my HTML documents).

Sorry, doesn't work. Any SCALE_IMAGE results in a fuzzy image when on the PDF.

Any other tips?

Ok, figured it out....

so to make the image scale into the TAG holder on the Report, you have to set the "Display Settings" on the attribute to scale "When displaying picture in a business object form"

IMAGE_DATA, is this an existing function? I don´t see it in the docs or rule assistant on V8.1 (build 2467). Is it as easy as Object.ImageData=IMAGE_DATA(Object.Image)? or have I misunderstood and this is something else entirely? Thanks

IMAGE _DATA function is available from version 6.0 onward. It seems to be omitted from the documentation.
