EXCEL UDD Templates

What is the latest version of Excel you are using for creating User Defined Documents.

I have frigged around with this for a week and bought various copies of Excel to get this working and have come to the following conclusion.

Excel 2016 - No Go
Excel 365 - No Go
Excel 2013 - Have not tried
Excel 2010 - This works.

File Format must be .xls and not xlsx.

Is this correct?

If so, how do your client build their own templates if they have, say, Excel 2016 and you need to run Excel 2010 of the server?
Also seems 64bit version of Excel on the server is no go... Messed around with Tanuki Wrapper and this failed.
So, I thought this was the issue but Excel 2010 32 bit on the server with templates built in Excel 2010 works as expected.

Would be very interested in the experience of others.

Might be time to update all this functionality to a later version of Excel I would hope.

I have created templates using Excel 2016 downloaded to my machine from Office 365 and have had a few import templates work. I have not had any users create their own template yet, however. You probably already know this but the Excel file needs to have the column titles match the BO name plus the Attribute names exactly in order for the import to work.

These are not import templates Roger.
They are templates for User Defined Documents.

Ah, sorry about that Mark, I was thinking Import Export templates.
I have been having an issue with UDD as well. Have not been able to get it to work either. Always crashes on the import.
I am using Excel 2016 from Office 365 account.
