When using a pick list and inline edit is checked off only allow a record to be selected if the checkbox on the left is selected. If the user clicked anywhere else on the record it unselects the record. Most of the time this is not an issue.
The exception is when you need to select 1 or more items for purchase or quotes or orders etc... and enter a Qty to purchase. Currently, you can select a record by clicking the checkbox or just selecting the record. This is a problem when you click on another field to enter a Qty, even if you have a Spinbox for a number it will unselect the record. You have to tab to the field so it is not unselected.
This example is used when purchasing sponsorship levels for a golf tournament. The user needs to select 1 or more sponsorships they want plus the qty. The may want to purchase golf for several golfers or multiple mulligans or multiple Dinner Only'.
if the inline edit was selected then maybe the pick list only selects or unselects the record when the checkbox is clicked and not the record itself.
