Reorder (Yes, revisited, sorry)

HI,
Was confused (and thankful) of the help offered the first go round. I need to ask again how to reorder (renumber) a list of things, when I delete some. Since the number is just for a count type purpose (visual), it is not tied to the job as an ID, etc. I have included an image. So what I need to have instead of the Job numbers showing as numbers 11, 1, 2, 3.....I need to show 1, 2, 3, 4. So I imagine that this has to happen when I delete a job, right? I would truly appreciate if someone could show me the steps.

I'm not sure that I'm following.

Are you looking for a "row" numbers to be listed (for display purposes only) that get recalculated if you delete an item?

If so, there is a "Number rows" check box in the query display settings.

Example:
Job No. 1, Wood.
Job No. 2, Metal.
Job No. 3, Plastic.

Then I delete Job No. 2, so I end up with:
Job No. 1, Wood
Job No. 3, Plastic

But when I delete a job I need it to reorder the jobs to be:
Job No. 1, Wood
Job No. 2, Plastic

Here is what I do, I add a rule to the object deletion rules:
FIND Object WHERE Object.Counter>ThisObject.Counter AND Object.ID<>ThisObject.ID
Object.Counter=Object.Counter-1

Nb: I can't remember if I have done some IN BATCHES OF etc. + using multiple processes etc. to do this.

If the Job Number is for display purposes only, you can put this in the Init Script.

config.columns[0].template = function () {
     return "Job No. " +  ++parser.recordNmb;
};

It will dynamically renumber the rows and append the text "Job No. " to each with no overhead of running BO rules.

Not sure where you went wrong, look through the logs if you want to try to fix it.

I use a non persisting B.O to store a temporary number, so when you've deleted/inserted a job, I do something Like

CREATE NPBO With NPBO.Integerattribute = 1
FIND Jobs WHERE Jobs in CUSTOMERS.JOBLIST ORDER BY JOBS.ID ASC TAKE BEST ONE
AnotherProcess

AnotherProcess does
Jobs.Jobnumber = NPBO.Integerattribute
NPBO.Integerattribute=NPBO.Integerattribute+1

Be sure to select Jobs and the Non Persistent B.O as your input for the second process
