This is a problem with AIM but looking for a solution. It pertains to calculating sales tax on a line item basis. There is an Invoice Header and Line Items. In creating the invoice, you select the Customer which brings in the Sales Rate from the customer object, and is supposed to update the header sales tax rate. It displays the rate correctly on the screen. When adding a line item, it multiplies the qty * price * header.rate / 100. It never gets the rate. When you save the form it updates correctly.
If you edit the invoice all-new line items calculate correctly and existing lines as well. The problem seems to be that since the Invoice header is new, even though it displays the value in the header, it is not available yet for the line items. Just as a note, I've linked back through the lineitems.header.customer.salestax.total rate and every iteration in between. It seems like nothing in the header is in context yet. I assume that others use header information to update line item calculations. So the form has to be saved first before any calculations take place. I also tried saving the form (checkbox) as soon as the Customer was selected, but it closed the form and brought up an empty. If it stayed on the screen, I think that would solve it, but it doesn't. So how is anyone calculating sales tax for example. Any possible solutions are appreciated. Thanks Mark
