Why do I get "There are Unsaved Changes..." Question?

I have a customer query with an operation to edit the customer (Runs process with EDIT Customers in a popup).

In the customer form, I have a relationship (BillTos) and I have an operation to edit them. If I select this, I get the popup "There are unsaved changes in object Customers. Do you want to save them?".

I have not made any changes to customers, there is no rule that is run that makes any changes. How do I stop this from showing up?

And, of course, as soon as I post a question, I try something new.

I have a DEFAULT operation for the customer query that just updates LIRU. If I turn the default off, then, I don't get the Question about Object Customers was changed. Now I am more confused. Since why would updating LIRU trigger Aware to think that the underlying object (in this case, Customers) was changed?

I've had this happen with something related to phone # masks.
If I imported some data and the phone # wasnt in the format I used in Aware, bringing up that record applied the mask to the phone #, making it think a change had happened.

as USUAL, Jaymer was right (although I am a little confused)

I have a phone # field that had a MASK on the form (not in the attribute def.) and I have an update rule that says "IF Customers.Phone WAS CHANGED.... that was triggered because there is a mask, even though there was NO manual update to the actual attribute. Just displaying the form, (with the mask) caused the update to run.
