Recalculate Customer numbers?

Okay, so suppose each customer has a number and I create 50 customers.
If I delete customers 27 and 28, how can I recalculate the number of customers?
I'm just referring to a list of customers, not customer ID's that would of course be owned by the customer.

Hmm, I don't see much help on "LOOP_ITERATION" that I can wrap my head around.
I did however see another post by HPL123 that mentioned "To give you a hint, use rules to find all instances AFTER the instance you are deleting and decreasing their number/sequence with 1."

Anybody?

I thought this would work, but it doesn't

FIND ALL StaffMember
StaffMember.EmployeeNmb=LOOP_ITERATION

Its just sets the Nmb to NULL

If you just want the number of Customers....

MyBO.NumberOfCustomers=COUNT Customer {..... and depending where they are} WHERE (Customer IN MyBO.om_Customers)

A couple of questions Harry...

Where does the Total Count need to stored?

Imagine the total number is stored in an Attribute called CustomerCount in a Business Object called "Whatever"

Create a Process called UpdateCustomerCount and set it to expect a Business Object of type Whatever.
In the Process.... the first Action (Not Condition) enter the following..

Whatever.CustomerCount=COUNT Customer

i thought he was saying he had each customer numbered sequentially.
when he deleted a few, he wants to renumber all the customers again starting @ 1

I’m with Bruce on this (he hasn’t commented but if he had he’d say “Stored Procedure”)

If you are just counting the number of customers then it’s faster by SP and will always be right whereas storing and recalculating it won’t necessarily.

Of course, I see the world through SQL so if you wanted the customers with a # that is sequential AND you are using MSSQL you would do the following:

SELECT ID, BASVERSION, BASTIMESTAMP, name, row_number over (order by name) as sequentialNumber
from Customers
Order by name

Hi All.
What I mean is...
Start with...

1 Wood
2 Metal
3 Iron
4 Copper
5 Plastic

Then I delete 3 and 4.
I'd have...

1 Wood
2 Metal
5 Plastic

Bit I need to recalculate (or insert your word) to end up with...

1 Wood
2 Metal
3 Plastic

Because the number is tied to the job, it's not just a row number.

Do a calculated field "RecLculateedTXT" and rule like this beelow everytime you reorder or delete a record:
RecalculatedTXT=RowNMB+' '+MyText

Don't want it to recalculate automatically.
Thus the reason for my requirement to click a "Recalculate Jobs" button.
