Can you ever try and learn so much that you start unlearning stuff? :-/
I am looking at Panel Operation and in particular Add New Reference and Add Reference and trying to refresh my mind as to the EXACT use of each.
Add New Reference is fine. But what is the difference between Add New Reference and Add Reference?
I can find nothing in the docs or any precise explanation on the forum.
This comes from the frustration from the following scenario.
I have a Parent BO A which has a Owns Many Reference to Child BOs B. The Child BO B also has Peer Many Reference to GrandChild BO C.
Child BO has an Attribute... BOType which I populate with an Initial Value like 'IDIOT'
The GrandChild has a Shortcut sc_ChildType to the Child B.BOType attribute.
When I Create a new B... Add New Reference. No problem. However the BO B Form is open... Created but not Saved.
No I go to Create a GrandChild BO C from the Child BO B Form.
At this point I want the GrandChild BO to "know" what the Child BOs (The GrandChilds Parent) Type is... in this case 'IDIOT'
Although the references work.... there seems to be no way I can get the Initial Value into the BOType Attribute so that the Shortcut is populated when the GrandChild is being created.
