Inline Editing - What record am I on?

In a normal query, it is possible the have a Default Operation that can trigger a Process when the record is clicked on. Hence, it is possible to always know which particular record has been selected.

However, for a Query that has Inline Editing enabled, it seems that the Default Operation does not work.... which sort of makes sense.

Hence, does anyone know a way to "know" which record is selected for InLine Editing and or how to call a process as each record is selected or as you tab past the end of one record and land on a subsequent record?

Hi Mark, I would like these questions answered too 🙂 I would also like to add to it (and perhaps calling a process in the manor you described can help) if you have totals on the bottom of your table columns there needs to be a way to refresh them when a record is edited inline...

Why do you need a process to know which record is current? This doesn't make any sense to me.

If you need to update the totals you need to write the corresponding rule on the object.

I don’t need a Process to know which record is current.
I need to know which record is current to call a Process. Which is the whole point of the Default Ooeration functionality.

No, you cannot do this with inline editing. Maybe it can be done with a script attached to the query with inline editing that intercepts "before edit" event and starts the process using AwareApp.startProcess (). But even then the process will be started when the user moves to each subsequent cell, not when he moves to each row.

The totals I was referring to is on the bottom of the column of the table/grid, where it is just SUM xx.xx etc - if you have a total like that and update the column inline, the total doesn't recalculate, you have to refresh the grid or screen
